My quail have been laying for about two weeks now. The earliest ones started at 5.5 weeks old. Egg size has been increasing through the week and more of the birds (there are twelve females, in three groups of four) are laying now.
A day and half's collection. There were three more eggs waiting for me just before dark, for a total of 17 eggs in two days.
I'm guessing the giant one will be double-yolked, but I'll find out for sure when I make my omelet tomorrow morning. The very tiny one is another hen's very first egg...if the pattern holds true, her eggs will increase in size over the next week until they match the rest.
