He just started this behavior today. He moves his head side to side. I would like to laugh but I want to make sure that it's nothing bad. I let them hatch some eggs and of course I now have another rooster, It's his son. That is the only change that has transpired.

Is this normal? Anyone?

It appears to be perfectly normal rooster behavior. All of mine do it, but mostly my 'head honcho' roo. I think it's part of their social display.

@Beekissed can you enlighten us on roos doin' this?

Mine does it when he cock a doodle doos scared me at first but then I saw the other one do it and assumed it was ok. I think it is to show off.

My roosters (both deceased) used to do that. It was usually after they had eaten, and I assumed they were settling contents in their crops.
