I know exactly how you feel as something simular happened to me but with one of my cats. As I sat in the living room chair one evening 3 weeks ago my sweet female cat fell off the end table and was deader than a door nail. Not one sound out of her but the thump on the floor was a dead weight sound. I too tried to administer CPR.
