Just watch to see what he does....he may be attempting to be helpful or he could be up to no good (eating eggs) or he could just be bored. My rooster doesn’t ever lay down I am very confused. Any ideas?
Hi there, welcome to BYC!My rooster doesn’t ever lay down I am very confused. Any ideas?
It is possible, but usually unlikely. Most of the time they are guarding a box, or showing the hens that is a good place to lay.He is probably broody. I have had two roosters go broody before he may attack you if you try to remove him or his eggs.
Perfectly normal and adorable rooster behavior. Isn’t it sweet when they look out for their hens?My roo was acting like a hen, kinda preparing the box for my Maggie…. Unusual. Now I look in to see him maybe protecting her???? Any help on this?View attachment 2932692
