My rooster is mating with...well...my rooster.

O...M...G!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! Poor Lily. No wonder "he" is so sweet and feminine!!!!! LOL Funny thing is, even the people I bought her from thought she was male by my description over the phone..........I should have sent them pics instead. I know that "what color is it" can be so subjective.

Thanks, SillyChick. Yes, I think she is beautiful.

The feathers on her lower back remind me of oats (the pattern).

I am pretty sure about my other two males. Well, pretty sure about one, I KNOW about Sigmund. Though seriously, I COULD be wrong on the other. He is a white leghorn (his name is Fluff)........larger, longer tail feathers, bigger comb, etc. than my female (that would be Puff....my sweet, special little angel chicken).....but they ARE just about 5 months old. I know they develop at different rates so I will get a pic of him on here. However, the one we gave away was a definite and, Sigmund is little mister "OH YEAH, I am a rooster!!!!!!!!!" LOL

aren't you the lucky one.......most people are posting the opposite. They ordered girls only to find out it was a boy

Your hen is very healthy looking. WOW....the white one looks like a hen too!!!!!

Yes, I agree!!! I feel quite lucky!!! The reason I think Fluff (the white one) is a boy is because he (she?) is so different from the other white leghorn. My other one is so much more girly looking.....her comb is about half the size and her tail is nowhere as big (she is the one I am holding in my avatar pic, but you just can't see here well). She also acts totally different. More "cuddly" if you will. I would be so glad to be wrong! I am totally new to this whole chicken thing which is one reason I am so glad to have found this site.

I have 2 buff orps and 2 sl wyondottes and they are the same. My 2 BO's are both girls and combs are much different.as with the wyondottes. From that pic, it really looks like a 2nd hen. Wath for the rooster mating that one too.

this was taken yesterday. These 2 are a yr old and look at the combs.

Great looking chickens you've got there...being a chicken with an alternative lifestyle wouldve been alittle tough in the ole chicken coop so glad that worked out where they didn't have to march in parades and fight for their rights, lol!

ROFL......yes, I think it is time for me to listen to Sigmund! He does seem to know what he is doing.

I haven't seen him mate with Fluff yet, but that certainly doesn't mean he hasn't.

Wow....yes, I see a definite difference in yours.....even in body size (and "bulk" like with my two). I suppose they are all different just like everything else.

LOL.....yes, I can just see him getting pecked up trying to hold that parade! Not a pretty thought!!!!
