Wow. I didn't even think a LF roo could kill something the size of a cat (at least not that quickly!) I'm glad the hen and roo are both ok. I feel kinda sorry for the cat but that's the risk an animal takes when they go hunting...
Glad to head your boy did his job! Now, seeing that the hen was bitten by the cat....check her for puncture wounds. If she has any, pick offf the scabs, douse heavily with saline wash and treat with neosporin. Cats teeth are like little hypodermic needles of bacterial. An infection is always guaranteed. Keep an eye on the hens neck for a few days.
We have to get another rooster..and raise it ourselves I think. That is encouraging! I love cats, but I sure do not want our babies attacked by a feral cat.
