Please help my rooster is sick
He has a swollen eye and mucus in his beak

when cleansed he was weeping it is only one eye

Yes the eye just wept
Hmmmm. Saying that it’s only in one eye I would think it would be some kind of seed or something that created an infection which created mucus which then glued his eyes shut. The mucus in the beak could be from his nose or stress is making him regurgitate his food. It happens to my chickens if they get too stressd

I have left him in a cage with water and food just hoping it disappears as we can’t get anything out

Have you been able to get his eye fully open? I had a rooster that had a seed stuck behind a chunk of thick mucus on his eye.

putting the eye aside the beak mucus could be from a crop infection, which makes them lethargic, not have an appetite, etc.
