I don't know what grade you are in but I find that a lot of basic precollege educators lack the ability to listen to their students. I say offer to do a presentation in class about chickens and even they will learn something.
I say don't really knock the teacher because they are human, and we would all more behind without them. They don't know everything and will have assumptions. I mean, how many teachers and non teachers think you need a rooster to lay eggs? Shoot, they went to school 4-5 years to get a crappy paying job, they do it for the satisfaction of teaching. Granted there are some bad ones so there are always exceptions.
If they are a good teacher, they will let you do a presentation and prove them wrong. They will listen to you and not dismiss your work. Remember now, cite all the places you used and avoid things like wiki. Go to breed web pages associated with things like APA as they should be credible.
As a side note which is inappropriate if you are not high school level or on good terms with the teacher, ask " Does that mean human eggs are different colors too?"
Just wait to get to college, you're professors can often become almost like colleagues if you share their interests and are willing to do more than memorize what they tell you. Like here though, there are ALOT of exceptions ans professors do not have to teach and many are forced to.
Time to make a power point presentation! I say do it and post it here so we can review it for you!
