My silkie chicks are dying am I doing everything I can?

Do you have a thermometer in with them?
If it was too much stress from shipping, I would call the hatchery and tell them they are dropping dead on you.
I know it may not save them, but you paid for Silkies, and you should have gotten chicks that should live.
Give it a shot, they want to make you happy. If they don't, you won't be a customer anymore, and another hatchery will. JMO

Thanks for checking up on me! The last 3 chicks seem just fine. Very active and cute. This whas my first time using a hatchery and i usually wouldnt but i didnt know how else to get the silkie bantams or cochin bantams. These silkies were my seccond shipment from there because when my first order came that was supposed to be 5 silkies and 5 Cochins I received all Cochins and 13 of them! Who are all really healthy and almost 5 weeks old. So I called and they appologised and offered to send me my 5 silkies. So when 2 died I called and they can't send me just 2 so they gave me a credit for 2 if I ever order some more.
And you asked of I had a thermometer with them... I don't. I think I'm going to borrow one out of my husbands geco cage! Or pick one up at pet store.
Thanks for the support I really appreciate it. I really wouldn't have known what to do. They died anyway but at least I did the best I could.

Oh, be careful about reptile anything going in with your chicks, unless you disinfect it really well.
I'm not sure about geckos, but I know turtles can carry some nasty diseases.
You might be better off just spending a few dollars and getting a new one.
Glad to hear they are doing ok!

Yeah your right I'm going to stop and get a new thermomiter on my way home. You never know what reptiles might have. I think some can carry salmonella.

Oh no. Another one of my silkies is really messed up! She keeps flipping herself over on her back and clicking at the airs and she is all wabbly and very upset. I don't know what to do! But it doesn't look good. And what does this meen for the last 2?

Im trying to comfort her. The only time she will calm down and sit still is whenim holding her. She can't swallow and just flops on her back when I put her down. Other two still look fine. Ive raised a lot of chicks and never had this happen. Sorry to be posting such depressing stuff. I'll stop. Just wish my last two silkies good luck! All my Cochin chicks are great though. They cheer me up

So sorry to see this. have you done a search? i've heard of other chicks doing this. can you use a dropper to give her water and/or polyvisol? i wonder if it's an electrolyte thing but silkies have a lot of weird tics. do yours have a vaulted skull? could their heads have been bumped or pecked?
