So glad someone said that!!! I was thinking that is one man who will be left out of the naming process!!!!!

Well I was watching TV the other day about all the crazy names celebrities give their kids and one was Banjo, I figured it will go well with my last name (Baker) and it would be funny to go to a big meeting and have the person leading it be named Banjo, lol. At least its not as bad as Aviation Navigator or some of the other crazy names.

I have one of those, with the Jr at the end, and have never been happy about it. We wanted our first to be a surprise and he caught me at a weak moment when I thought for sure the baby was going to be a girl. We struck a deal that I would name it if it was a girl and he would name it if it was a boy, well you guessed it, it was a boy. Now he has a jr. stuck on the end of his name. One good thing is my dh has always gone by his middle name and ds goes by his first. I have to look at it this way it could have been worse, after all he could have been named Banjo!!

J/K Flying Monkey...I really don't think Banjo is that bad. We're expecting right now and we have the name Howdy on our list of boy names. A very close friend of ours has asked us to consider nameing the baby Howdy if it's a boy. It's starting to grow on me!

My sister has a "knack" for different names. She has 4 boys. Here are their names.....
McKaen Scott-James
Kade Steffani-Erroll
Raven Rae-Wolfgang
Kougar William-Joseph
Me, I am not so creative! My son is named after my the same Grandfather I am named after. His name was Ray(just Ray) Elwood, my name is Tanya Rae and my sons name is Raymond Elwood. My BIL is named Donald Eugene, I think that has a ring to it. FIL.. Vernon Allen DH..Kenneth Conrad

My favorite name of all, because it was my dads name....Chauncey Erroll. I have always been told it sounds like a strong name. If I had a girl I was going to name her Chauncey Ann. My Moms name was Georgiann so it would be a combo of both! Mom had no middle name, always thought that was kind of neat!

This sounds like us - my fil is Steven, my husband is Steven and my son is Steven.

I also have an Austin and a Wyatt.

My oldest son is Travis and I while I love it, he was supposed to be Levi. Both my husband and I loved it, but his parents hated it and made fun of it and hubby caved. That was the last time we shared our names with them before the baby was named.

Our second son (third child) was adopted. This was 10 years later and a second bio baby in between. Again we picked Levi but we lost that child's referral because he had some serious medical conditions and since Dh was self employed, our insurance could refuse to cover him. We were given another referral and after loving the first boy (in our hearts, we didn't have him yet) and calling him Levi for months, I couldn't just transfer the name to another child. Our second son is Samuel Thomas, Thomas is after my Dad and would have been Levi's middle name.

We also have two girls, Rachel and Maya. All of our kids have family names for their middle names, but Maya, being our last is named after a bunch of family. Maya is a form of May, Mary & Marie, all either the first or middle name of 1 Grandma and 2 Great Grandmas and her middle name is Evalyn, after another Great Grandma, Eva, and my middle name Lynn. Pronounced like the more common spelling, Evelyn. For those not familiar, Maya is the most common spelling of the name, "My ah", but most people who hear it, spell it Mia which is actually" Mee ah" and most people who see it spelled, pronounced it "May ah". Oh well, I tried to make it easy.

I like it, Howdy is very rustic and western.
Like country girl said, choose a name that wont get made fun of too much, or names that are too common such as Michael. That is another thing I dont like about my name, it seems that in every grade and every class there was atlest 1 other Michael in my class. One year there were 3 Michaels in my class. Then on the bus there was always a little kid named Michael that always got yelled at, it was annoying.
