I can honestly say our bus drivers in our little school district really go above and beyond the call of duty. One time we had a worthless mother who wouldn't be home when the bus driver was there to drop off her two little girls, and he would not leave them and brought them back to school with him. He got in so much trouble over that, but refused to be responsible if something would have happened to them "on his watch". Another one would pick up some kids on her way to start her route at 7, so their mom wouldn't have to leave them alone for an hour. Driver got in trouble for that, and told them to stick it, if she wanted to deal with three kids earlier than what was scheduled, SHE would deal with it, what difference did it make. True. Instead of them last to pick up, she just made them first. Most of them seem to know when or if a kid is going to ride and will wait as long as they can before moving on if no one waves them on or starts out the door. Except for one. This goober makes up for every good driver out there. NO talking AT all, white slips kids to the max for NOTHING. If you aren't there to get your kid off of the bus, he goes on and your kid goes back to school at the end of the route and YOU pick them up. If he gets it in for a kid, oh have mercy on that child!!! He absolutely will no relent or give in on anything, no matter WHO tells him too, and nothing is ever done about it, because its a small town. . .sad but true. My hat is off to most of the drivers in this world, because its a job I wouldn't want for the world!!!
Hope you can get this resolved. I know how frustrating and infuriating it is!!! They do need to get the time straightened out. I worked in the school cafeteria and have heard them say when they came in for coffee that they would slow down A LOT to make up for the extra min. they picked up here and there. Not a hard thing to do if you think if you think about it!!! No kids are suppose to get off of the bus at our school before 8, and that was a BIG issue with the old prin. I don't know how the new one is going to feel about it. Not suppose to legally have a bus ride for a kid longer than an hour too, but the bus comes by our house at 7:03 on the dot, and he gets to school about 5 after 8, so those kids have a long ride that get off first. I take our guy, because an hour is too long for a little boy to ride without getting into trouble. Too many big kids causing issues also.
