I use to have a whole flock of chickens a few years back.
Most of them gotten eaten by raccoons, hawks, etc...
And i only have one left which i have now had for about 5 years now.
It took me a long time to get over their deaths and i just couldn't bare to have anymore chickens for a while.
A few days ago we found this young polish chicken in the road and i had to rush it to the vet.
Its so gentle and nice and its reminded me why i got chickens in the first place <3
We were looking for its owner but no ones claimed it and its finally warmed me up to having chickens again.
So right now i only have two chickens but i am hoping to get some more when the Guilford fair comes around in September!
