My Version of the Witchata Coop build.

It is very sturdy, I am not worried at all about predators in the coop and run. And I think with the huge door on the coop, and the walk in run, it will be very easy to clean. Only thing I am nervous about right now is the plexiglass, it seems a little flimsy, I am thinking I should have went with acrylic (more expensive) or real glass (harder to work with) we will see what happens.

Thanks for sharing that. I hadn't purchased the window material yet and the Menards guy was steering me toward plexiglass. But I've done a little stained glass work so hearing that I think I will go with glass.

How much power do you have run in there?
Did you run it off a breaker of your house system?

My coop is about 20ft from my septic system, so we tapped into the power that runs the pump that feeds my drain field. I think it is a 20 amp circuit just running the sump pump, so i ran 12-2 wire from there to the coop to supply 4 15 amp outlets. That is basically what the electrician bro in law told me to do.

This where I am at today.

With coop door set in place, still need to cut in the window in the door.

I got most of the rest of the painting done before it started raining today.

So I started working on the windows. Plexiglass seemed a lot stronger when I got it into smaller pieces? Garage is a mess after 4 weeks of working on the coop.

Window mounted in the door.

Looks great!! We also built the Wichita coop. Ours is 6' x 15' and still growing.

I am 99 percent done, I have the roosts, the divider in the nest box, and a little bit of staining left, I cant wait to be done!

Darn it, and shingle the roof.

Are you done? I'm anxiously awaiting... and using your photos often!
