MyPetChicken.com...update: customer service still very good

So far so good is my experience with them. All came alive and in great shape. I'll let you know about the sexting later. although that is down by the hatchery (which I believe is Meyer?) in Ohio.
I also had good service on the phone.

HI... I'm sheepishly posting in here. I always feel awkward posting around here with so many knowledgable people! Here at Meyer we guarantee a 90% sexing accuracy and if we're wrong, we'll refund you the difference and usually resend you what you want. Although, we do not offer sexed bantams.

I do hope that all your chicks are doing alright.

OK...busy few days, but I'm back.
Here's some pictures of the silkie and the polish. Sorry they're out of order...it's late. I should be sleeping!

I plan to call My Pet Chicken on Monday, so hopefully I'll get it worked out.

deeredawb Does Meyer have a chick sexer that just sexes bantams for My Pet Chicken? I always wondered how that works.

I thought I did by emailing them three times. I changed my title of the post, if that makes you feel better. You are right...I have been hastey, and I am sorry for that. However, it's frustrating to pay so much and end up with basically straight run.

I don't think its their fault if the email that you're sending is being returned back to you.

Their email is [email protected]

they get hundreds of emails every day and do their absolute best replying to every one within 48 hours of arrival because if they don't, then someone gets on here and says they have horrible customer service...

All right. I've been a bit hasty and possibly a jerk. This is what happens when you are typing instead of talking...it comes off much worse than intended.

I have not been able to get a single email through. I WILL be calling on Monday and am hoping for the great customer service that everyone has said they offer, and that they did offer me when our chick was sick and died. It is my fault for trying to fix this with technology alone.

However, I think it is alright for me to say how my order turned out...40% cockerels and one chick that died (NOT necessarily MPC's fault), leaving me with two pullets out of an original order of 5 that cost $60 plus. Perhaps these are the possible realities of ordering from any place. Unfortunately I cannot keep my cockerels, but I do believe I have found homes. Had they been different breeds, I might have had a harder time.

Any time you order from any hatchery, there has to be a back-up plan. I had two. But I believe that many people who order from My Pet Chicken absolutely cannot have roosters. I just want to reiterate to them that it can and does happen. I believe this type of warning is very fair.

If I receive commendable customer service regarding my order, I will certainly come back here and be generous with praise, and maybe even delete my original post. But for now, I'm leaving it, because I know people do searches on hatcheries all the time and deserve to know.

I recently ordered from MPC 3 Silver laced Wyandottes, 3 easter Eggers, and 2 Australorps. At the time, I didn't know I wanted a roo... But now I do. Hopefully your luck will rub off onto me! Sadly, none of the above are bantams, and I hear their acurate sexing ratios are much worse with those...

MaggieRae...despite the fact that I cannot have roosters, I really do like my polish boy. It's funny...I've never read of anyone actually hoping for a roo on this board.

Off topic, if I were to have any rooster, it would have been a gorgeous buff brahma at the fair last year. He was handsome and actually had a beautiful deep voice.

Maybe you will get "lucky" and someone will sprout some interesting tail feathers.
