I bought this chicken from tractor supply and I was told I was getting a buff Brahma. Once I got home I looked and she didn’t look like the white Brahmas I got. As time when on and her featured came to be I did some research and determined it is an australorp silkie mix. She has 5 toes black skin and up until this week a completely black comb and waddle; now the comb is purple. I believe she was born around March 1st. I was wondering what you all think she is. Also is it a she?! I am starting to suspect she is a he. What do you think?

Jumping in here. Our Mystic Onyx, Gracie, has been exhibiting some dominating behaviors (chest bumping and flailing out her head and neck feathers). From her feather coloration, I’m suspecting she may be a cockerel. Any ideas if she’s actually a Cash or Elvis?

It usually works better to start a separate thread. That way when someone posts an answer, there is no question which bird they are talking about. Listing the age of your bird would also help.
