Mystery Game. Rex, Ruth or Ghost?????? ANSWER POSTED.

Hi Krturpie - descendants of the Morris family still live in town and own the thousands of acres around us. In an estate dispute they sold off the house and 20 acres at the end of the 70s. They visit the graves. In fact everyone in this town was either born in this house, grew up here or played here with the people who did grow up here. I didn't get a chance to ask the maids why they blamed Green and not his parents. At the time I thought they kept saying Old Man Green Morris. The next day I went and checked tombstones because I thought surely they weren't saying "Green Morris" but sure enough there was a grave for a Green Morris. At first I thought it must be the man that built the house but then noticed the names and dates on the other tombstones and realized it was the son, born 1908, same year house was built.

Last owners never lived here. Only owned the house for 2 years and came up on rare occasion/weekend and used it for special events.

Hi Beefy - as usual you have me in stitches.

More Clues tomorrow but for tonight an extra tip:

Rex has more than one bed - there's three out there.

Today's Clue and Final Clue:

There were 10 green eggs in Ruth's secret clutch the day before these "mysterious" eggs were discovered. After discovering the 2 out-of-place green eggs I checked Ruth's hidden stash and there were only 7. Coincidence? Did the mysterious two green eggs come from Ruth's hidden nest and if so, what happened to the third?

Ruth, do you know the answer to this?

well, I'd say it was the racoon. he found the hen's clutch, and decided to take 3 eggs. he ate one, then rex noticed him and scared him so that he dropped one. then rex took the other thinking that it was his ball.

maybe?

Well no one kill me, but I can't swear that I know the 100% answer. I'm taking my best guess like everyone else. On Monday, I'll post what I THINK happened along with one final picture that might back up answer.

However, it is a mystery. Not a real tough one or earth shattering but I thought it would make a cute little game. It took me a little while to put all the pieces together that day.

Thanks all for playing - take your best guesses between now and Monday.

Well I am glad I know how Green got his name, my father has his mothers maiden name for his middle name which was quite common. I am going to go over all this on the weekend when I have more time and will post my conclusion!

Global Warming! Global Warming did it!

Global Warming is melting the polar icecaps! Global Warming is causing the Earth's weather patterns to change resulting in all sorts of screwy weather and setting off a chain of events! global warming has caused the earth's axis to tilt an additional 23 or something degrees which puts it right around 45 degrees now. This is how it all starts! one minute Ruths eggs are sitting nice and comfy in the horses stall, then BANG!-- they are rolling all over tarnation. whats a dog who is addicted to playing fetch to do when he sees something go rolling by? must...retrieve...

so i can think of two scenarios:

1) global warming results in the shift of the earth's axis thereby causing ruths eggs to roll out of the nest, down the red brick road and rex retrieves the first egg and takes it to his bed while the other egg continues to roll into the brick step, thus breaking.

OR

2) global warming results in the shift of the earths' axis thereby causing ruths eggs to roll out of the nest and rex retrieves both to his nest but one rolls back out down the steps and breaks on account of the earth being all askew while rex is somehow able to secure the other egg.

Either way, have you had your V8 today?

As for the third egg, Omelet you tell us all what happened to it. i suspect it is in or near one of Rex's 3 beds.

O.K. All - thanks for playing. After all the strange going-ons I decided to post a hidden camera downstairs. Here's a picture it took.

that's too funny,lol.
I thought it might be the coon or the ghost.
I've found fake eggs in strange places throughtout our property, had to be the coons.
That was fun, thanks for sharing.

Oh...and for the missing third egg. Rex led me right to it later that morning - further down brick path - closer to horse stables. Did what we call his Lassie impersonation of "Timmie fell down the well" - when he wants you to follow him. At the time he claimed he had NOOOO idea how the eggs went missing from Ruth's little nest. A few days later, after I showed him the incriminating poker picture, he made up some fool story about the coon, named Jose, being from Mexico who told everyone the green eggs were very rare and valuable and bluffed everyone into letting him bet eggs instead of chips. Rex called his bluff later and caught him trying to leave with three of the rare green eggs. Jose dropped them as Rex chased him off for cheating.

Well....that's Rex's story and he's sticking to it. Hope you all enjoyed our little mystery.
