New chicken tender here. My chickens were all born around the beginning of June 2020. Up until the last 30 days my 20 chickens have had an impeccable bill of health. Recently 6 of the flock has been stricken with fowl pox. I immediately separated them.

About 2-3 weeks after separation I found one of my unaffected black star hens ruffled up with a runny nose and staying in the coop alone. I knew this was a sign of sickness so I quarantined immediately.

For the next 8-9 days this hen didn't eat or drink anything. I had to feed through a syringe. She would walk around and preen herself but acted like she had dementia or something and wouldn't even try to eat anything so I had to put her out of her misery.

Now 3 days later one of her coopmates is limping around on one leg(no runny nose) - not a slight limp but literally hopping on one foot.

I am worried about marek's. Can anyone help me understand what is going on?

Marek's will show symptoms of paralysis. She may have just injured her foot. Does it look like there's any scrapes or sores on it? Have you seen her straighten it?

I have seen a very small amount of blood on her leg. Less than 1 drop. I also moved her leg into several positions and she didn't seem to feel any pain which makes me fear paralysis. Her toes do, however, grip around my finger when pressed, which may offer counter proof of neurological disease, but when she sits in her crate they are curled into a fist like position.
