Myth buster-does Guinneys mate for life

Is this a myth that Guinneys mate for life and what age do they pick their mate? I have 5 six-week old keets and find they are highly sociable. Is this a future concern for their welfare?

i have one male with 6 females and although he was with this one by theirself for 2 yrs and he favors her above the others he will mate with the others and yes very social birds. i would strongly suggest you handle them as much as possible while they are young. it will make it easier on you in the long run.i also added 3 keets to their coop in a separate cage for 2 months and the guinea adults stopped roaming to keep an eye on them and when released they stuck together. and are doing fine
