@draye your birds are so lovely! My NNs are 8 weeks old now, and I tried to take some photos yesterday when I was in the tractor weighing, but I'm not sure how well they came out. Of the black-downed chicks, there are two that look to be true full black, along with black legs, beak, comb, and face (not neck) - and they're GORGEOUS with the sheen on their feathers - they're a homozygous little pullet and then the rose combed one (for which I can't tell gender, but am starting to suspect cockerel). The others are one full (lovely) partridge, and then three with small amounts of red accent. Tank is still over half a pound bigger than next largest NN cockerel at almost 3 lbs. Everyone's growing up and looks so pretty - I love my Naked Necks!!!!

I'm sure yours are pretty too. I think most chicks are, some grow up to be kinda ugly ( in mine anyway) but I still love my NN.

I've got a sold blue cockerel from my Blue Jersey giant cross. I'm going to try to get a solid shiny black line if NN going with my current stock. It will probably be a long haul though and might be near impossible, Kev thinks it can be done, but says the hardest part will be getting a solid black cockerel since they tend to inherit the leakage worse than the pullets.

I'm supposed to be borrowing back a Naked Neck hen that I gave to my grandson along with a non NN rooster that is 1/2 Marans and 1/2 unknown but out of some of my flock that I also have him.
The hen lays green eggs. She is half sister to some if my hens here all by the same daddy and hatched at the same time. I will be putting those two together for some out cross babies. Hopefully for a New Years hatch, but at least an early spring hatch. I promised him ( my grandson) some more chickens when they are ready.

OK, I'll post some photos in the next few posts, but first, here's the reason I struggle to get good photos - these curious little buggers are expert at the photo bomb!!!! (This was supposed to be a photo of the bird behind him...)
