Naked Neck/Turken Thread

OK, I'll post some photos in the next few posts, but first, here's the reason I struggle to get good photos - these curious little buggers are expert at the photo bomb!!!! (This was supposed to be a photo of the bird behind him...) - Ant Farm
I've got to where I try to get individual shot if each chick as I check their leg ties. I have a rabbit cage that I prop the door open and stand in front of it to keep them from escaping and get a fair shot. A photographer I'm not. I just do the best I can.

Here are two different dark boys - one black downed with lots of red in him, and one yellow-downed but with a lot of black with his red.

And here's the boy with blue legs:

Not trying to get your hopes up but this one looks like the feathering on A partridge pullet. At least the ones that I got that were partridge.

Puppy is the closet to the front on the roost. Note the abnormal New Hampshire pullet on the lower roost - interestingly, whatever her genetic deformity, it comes with some white mottling of her feathers (not that I would breed her even if she were able). Look at her eyes/eyelids - she also has poor balance. But she's pretty tough and has survived so far, and the others will snuggle with her, so I haven't had the heart to cull her yet.

Another roost shot, and then some boys at the feeder:

Pretty, sweet birds - I'll say it again, I love my Naked Necks!

Oh yes, I know she's partridge - I only have two that are solid black (so far), this one is clearly partridge, and the others that started black have red accents... It'll be interesting to see how those turn out...

Edit to add - BTW, she DOES look like a pullet to me (maybe I misunderstood - is that what you meant, gender?), but by her growth chart, she's up there with the smaller boys in weight. If her growth keeps up, she'll be a big girl!!!

On the other hand, the pure black pullet is the smallest of the NNs I have.

That is a great idea actually. Or a show- box, three solid(and colored) sides with open front.

I sorry, I didn't state that right. I knew that you knew the color, I was just trying to say I thought it was a pullet in case you were still guessing at the sex.

I saw your edit up above.
