Hi folks!
I'm in Julian, CA. I have some NN chicks hatching today. I didn't realize that one of my EE's was jumping in the nest box laying her eggs while broody mama went off to eat. Now I have eggs that are about 7-10 days in, no incubator and not another broody.

If anyone is interested in the eggs and wants to set them PM me. They are out of lil Kev, my lavendar bantam roo, and a very large creamy white EE. One of the NN/EE chicks has hatched and it's a cutie!! Will be like it's mom, NN and cream colored. I'm so excited about it! Still have one NN bantam from the pair I got from Kev that's starting to hatch out right now. I originally only set two eggs under the broody so the other 5-6 will be lost if I don't have any takers.

Artsyrobin it is much to dry here in the high desert of the SW from NM to the coast to consider hatching without some form of constant moisture.

KKH hurry up and get more of the bantam lavender NNs from that pair. If little Kev is doing his job, is it the hen who does not lay many eggs ? I would even drive over the 250 miles to pick up eggs from little Kev and his hen. Oh I forget, Is she lavender also ? Well I would almost drive down if I knew that the NN/EE were bantam.
