nice chickens.I locked the "bigs" out of the coop and let the littles out of the brooder pen![]()
Anyone need some white NN cockerels?? LOL I have two of them out of this batch...
This was one of my favorites on hatch day and I think I got lucky with a girl!
Kinda reminds me of dinosaurs on the hunt lol
The buff bird in the center is one I wasn't able to photo the other day. The tail is very hen-like, but I'm still not convinced. Sometimes I do see some pinker areas around the head. Would be cool for this one to be a girl. Black-tailed buff, yes? I need this girl with the brabanter project, methinks.
This is another pic of one of my faves. Her chick photo made her look like she had on a big ol' coat (I think she's my profile pic, I THINK **ETA** Not my profile pic chick) so it was joked that if she were a boy, we'd call her Mack. "Thrift Shop" also came up lol. That's what I've been calling her, but thinking I'll switch gears and call her Macy instead.
My little lover boy. Thinking I may just call him Keeper.
I really can only imagine what the neighbors are going to think once they get a good look at all these naked necks![]()

My BIL and family came over on Easter for dinner. I was out rototilling the garden, both naked neck coops/runs are basically on part of the garden right now. He came over and said 'what's wrong with your chickens!?' Lol! that's what they're supposed to look likeI locked the "bigs" out of the coop and let the littles out of the brooder pen![]()

Well I may have a fair start back on my Black/White project.
The 7/8 weeks olds ( I forgot to write down the hatch date so I can't remember for sure when they hatched) I have a White cockerel a white pulllet and it looks like a black pullet ( so far I don't see any Birchen look coming in).
The last eleven that hatched from the refrigerated ( although none if the refrigerated eggs actually hatched) I have eleven left. I lost the one that came from my Polish crossbreed Crested hen. Checked them out this afternoon and it doesn't look like there are any whites or blacks in these.
The lady ones ( 55 ) that I put in are just now beginning to hatch, 1 so far, and it looks like it is maybe a white one. Fingered crossed that it is and many more if the ines I set are going to be Blacks and ehites.

yeah I got a few that turned out in the small side too. Don't know why. I did handle the. Yesterday though and they seem to have a little weight to them.keeping to see how they turn out.So, those chicks I got from Cynthia12 a couple weeks ago are growing fast, and are even a bit pudgy compared to how my other breeds were at the same age. Since the nights are gonna be warm from this point on here in Az, and these kids are so full of spunk and obviously need more space, I partitioned off a part of the bachlor pad/grow out where my 10 week old cockerels are at, and moved them outside. They certainly seem to like the extra space. I like having chicks out there, too, because I'm coming in from the side instead of over head. So that way they don't get that mini freak out whenever I walk by. I just put them out there yesterday afternoon and they already seem much happier. The one on the perch is the one we both though may be Aloha. She looks to possibly have a pea comb and showing very pale skin (no yellow). She's also one of the shy-est out of them. Looks like that one may be an Aloha. I didn't know though I had anything with the Alohas that could produce a pea comb though. At least not that much Calico look.
I'm liking this darker buff one, she's developing some nice rich hues and has become more outgoing over the last week.
The blue barred little cockerel that Cynthia said was one of Drayes is growing out some very bold blue barring with a teeny bit of buff highlights. He's gonna be neat looking, but I think he may be one I'll be looking for a new home for later.
.Can't figure out where that barring came from in my flock. I don't have any Barred birds at all. Though there is some barring in the background of some of my birds. Guess things can pop out. I'm going to watch for that trait to pop out. The two black hens are staying kinda small, but I'm hoping maybe they'll catch up later. As long as they are meaty heavy birds, since that's what I'm aiming for, they will definitely be keepers. I'm still unsure on that big black one. He/she is showing some combo welsummer/partridge patterns in the black. Someone posted a pic of a bird a while back that I think he's going to look very similar too. The dark brown/red male I am completely in the air over. I really only want to keep one rooster out of these, so I may not make a decision on any of them until they grow up and start showing what kind of bird they are gonna be.
