Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I'm still getting used to the bells and whistles of the new setup. I just spent the past 20 minutes reading posts from 2010 before realizing that they weren't "new". Oops!

Here are my two biggest NN boys ever for their age.

Lincoln: 34.96 ounces @ 6 weeks - He's mostly blue in color but is starting to show some mahogany splash in his feathers now. Since he'll be 8 weeks old this coming weekend I'll trying getting a more current photo. He has a rose comb and is surprisingly austere and dignified, watching over the rest of the flock most of the time.

Remy: 38.94 ounces @ 6 weeks. He's also blue, but shows more of the red barring in his feathers. He's much sweeter and friendlier than Lincoln, but is also quick to bite.

Those boys sure look suspiciously related to the pullet in my last post... :p

Got some photos of the NN (Tank) x GNH crosses today - Kirk and his girls (plus two olive eggers in the group). Kirk has inherited his father's wonderful disposition and excellent flock leader characteristics at such a young age (he's about 21 weeks) - I am loving him! The girls are nice as well, both in disposition and friendliness and body type. This coop is so calm and pleasant to be around. I'm thinking of doing another hatch later in the year while the GNH girls are still with Tank, to try to get some more pullets.

I was cuddling with the super friendly black olive egger (no name yet - it will come, she goes by lovey dovey names like sweetheart and honey for now), and Kirk decided he wasn't getting enough attention and climbed his way up me - surprised the heck out of me!!!

Such great looking birds! I hope you plan on keeping this line going for a long time. S&G no longer sells chicks. :(
