Yay!!!! Atlas finally got me some fertile eggs. The poor boy, I have no clue what happened to him. His toes all died over winter and now there's hardly anything left and they haven't fallen off yet. And I can't just remove them because for some reason there's bloodflow still. I feel awful, I have no clue what happened but he can't roost anymore and we're probably going to have to cull him because of that.
They might have, but this progressed further, longer than I've ever seen here before. Plus there was never bloodflow this long after.Did his toes get frostbitten? That could have caused it.

Consider yourself lucky. I'm honestly debating if tying them off would be even worse. They're already dead and he's tripping on them constantly because of how they curled under him.I wish I could help but I'm out here in the desert, so I don't have to deal with it getting as cold in the winter.
Naked Necks always make me laugh. They are so funny to look at and it is fun to play around with the genes and cross other breeds with naked necks to create your own naked neck chicken
I'm hoping to work on that next year. Already got the bearded polish ladies, just need a male NN to stick around over winterYou could make some Naked Neck's that wear those polish crest's. Have you tried it yet?
