So, my parents have gone berzerk in designing what they are now calling Kevin and Coco's "Cottage". They have absconded with the small henhouse hutch that I used to use as a grower pen and are now tricking it out for Kevin and Coco. Some of the improvements include paint, insulation foam, a new floor in the henhouse, sand in the run, a new corrugated metal roof, plastic gallon bucket nestboxes, and some mysterious solution to filling some large gaps with hardware cloth.... (I have no idea what they are plotting as the "more attractive alternative", but when I find out i'll let u know.)

Glad your parents are smitten with the little ones! They're nice birds, hope Kev isn't running Coco around too much....he's used to having a harem. His son has been a pistol since he's discovered that pops isn't around to keep him in line. I'll give him some time to calm down. I'm happy to hear that your parents are enjoying them.

Kevin and Coco seem to be fine one on one - seems to me, she's the boss of him. LOL Its funny, it started out they were going to live in a new pen, then it became this pen, and now its this pen, but with all the modern comforts one can provide chickens. Honestly, I got them for my parents, so I am glad that they have really taken to them. I mentioned to them this morning that I don't like the pens spread out all over the property because it takes more effort to do my chores, and my mom got a dissapointed look on her face and said: "But I thought Dad and I get to take care of them." I assured them that if they want to be in charge of Kevin and Coco, that is fine with me.

KKH he is good looking and doesn't appear gamey at all I thought that he did appear so in earlier pictures. I think I have four males, besides the white Am and Victor and one Buff laced bantam Polish, I am thinking that that second buff laced polish which was so different from her brother now looks similar and so I am wondering about him/her/it ?

Flower....post up-to-date pics.I am sure that someone will be able to give you their opinion on the sexes. BUT I thought I was the Cockerel Hatching Queen.....I managed to hatch 9 cockerels out of 11. I'm sure someone else is waiting to claim that title, though (heck my computer keeps changing words for me and making me say things even stranger than I would normally say).

KKH......Lil' Steve is lovely....and SO proud.

Crikey....I love the NN ducks. We have a huge pond/mini lake. I'm going to find out if they are available in GB. We probably have resident otters by the pond, but they don't seem to interfere with the wild ducks and geese, so I'm assuming it would be OK.

Mort being gone, I am looking to find a suitable consort for my girls. I'll take pics. and ask everyone's opinions. I've got quite a bit of choice.

Assuming that they survive the winter, I will be putting Lastat my La Flèche cockerel with a few of the black NN girls (plus 4 La Flèche girls) next spring for the novelty value, but would like to have some more pure NNs, so would value advice as to who would be the best of my bunch to use.

As we had an appalling and lengthy storm yesterday, they may look a bit worse-for-wear.
