A couple pics I got yesterday.
Splash frizz FM hen (lays a large blue/green egg).

This little black hen (brown egg layer) was trying to figure out how to get to the other side of the temp fence I just put up. There is a Muscovy duck on eggs (due to hatch soon) in that plywood box. They were sharing the box for laying until yesterday.

Splash boy, also carries the barring gene.

I think the 'pure' NNs are supposed to have yellow skin (save for the blood red neck and face!). My pure breeds all seem to have yellow skin with black legs.....but the NN crosses have other colours. Some of my crosses have what I believe to be called 'gypsy face'......black on their cheeks, including the outsize Blackchops.

What is it with little NN roosters, too? Arian (unfortunately not Arianne) a predominantly grey, splash tiny little fellow with a pathetic reedy little whine for a crow is a mini sex machine. He probably weighs all of 2 lbs and he is trying to mate with everything including my grand old dame Dark Brahma, Mrs Grey, who tips the scales (literally) at just under 11lbs. She pecks him furiously, but he is nimble and agile and is a rather like an annoying big meat fly around your head in the summer months....

I can picture it perfectly!! My Light Brahma would fly up into the air and attack my little NN cockerel. She wasn't having any of THAT!!

I'm moving my bantam NN's into a coop of their own. I worry too much about them when I free range. We have one or more Cooper's hawks that sit in a big oak tree that overlooks the coop.
They're huge!! Bantams are just too easy of a meal for them. My Lil' Steve will go from having a dozen ladies to three. Ummmmmm.....I'm a bit worried for the ladies. I do plan on
adding a couple more pullets down the road.

This is a very cute picture. If you didn't know the story behind it you'd think she was trying to tell this horse something.

Got my first egg from one of my frizzle girls and it's green! It's the little things that make my world go round!

Well, this weekend I traded out some chickens to my brother for some Naked Necks. 1 rooster and 9 hens with three young ones that were hatced in Nov. Assorted colors.
So now I'm set with my three favorite breeds in this order: Easter Eggers-Naked Necks-and Polish.

Will do when we get better weather, everything is ugly around here right now (not the chickens) because of the weather we've been having.

Congratulations I hope the other gift pullet does as well. Looks like you are headed in the right direction even though no blue feathers. But you still have eye candy !!!
