Thanks guys, I really hope that eyeliner stays. Also, on the black, that doesn't show up in the picture, the pin feathers look to be barred! That would be great! Anyone have a barred NN to share a photo of?

There are several people with barred NN some are green egg layers also. The pictures are way back in the thread.

Lacey, I hope the swelling doesn't come back.
All my barred chicks hatch with a yellow headspot. I thought all barred chicks except Campines, Fayoumi, did --- but I don't know for sure.

Cream legbar, which looks to have partridge in its mix , Males have white head spot, females have partridge markings, strip down back and no head spot.


the female on the left looks to have a Brown spot but it is really the remainder of the brown stripe

Heres the other side

Do you see any kind of bite mark or anything like that on the swollen side?

My top choices are insect/snake bite, or serious sinus type infection (everytime I've seen a chicken w/ sinus type issues it seems to affect only one side at a time), or not sure about chicken anatomy but in a human could be some sort of lymph infection/inflamation. I'm not much of a chicken doctor though.

Hes doing fine now it only last for a day and a half...I think he ate too much wet food and it clogged his throat
