It all depends on whether parents (regardless of gender) are NaNa (two copies of naked neck gene) or Nana+ (one copy of naked neck gene).
If one parent is NaNa, ALL its offspring will have naked necks (no matter what the other parent has).

If one parent is Nana+, the offspring have a 50% chance of inheriting naked neck.
If both parents are Nana+, the offspring have two 50% chances of inheriting naked neck.
If it gets 'lucky' and inherits from both parents, it will be NaNa.
If it is 'unlucky' in the 'genetics jackpot', it can not inherit the gene for naked neck at all.

How can you tell if one parent is NaNa? Will they have any bowtie at all (the parents not chicks)?

I know Brian was Nana, but not sure on the girls. They were more naked than Brian for sure.

The only way I know to tell is by the size of the bow-tie (or lack of). NaNa have no bow-tie or small bow-tie.

What Lisa said. The Na gene is not located on the sex chromosomes. It also depends on chance- the expected percentages show up in larger numbers and it can really seem to skew one way in smaller numbers.

You're supposed to get 50/50 heads or tails in a coin toss. When you do 100 tosses, the numbers will come out to about even- extremely rare to hit on perfect 50-50 it will always be a little one way but if repeated the overall results will keep coming back to 50/50.

However do a coin toss only 5 or 10 times, it's very possible to get much higher counts of either head or tail. 4 heads vs 1 tail or vice versa.
