What all colors start out as chipmunk-like in coloring as chicks? So far I think red and partridge do.

My red started out yellowish-red. The Partridge started oput black/chocolate colored.
The only one that I had that started out chipmunk is the Salmon colored that I posted (Sensa).

Question: Is it normal for a chicken to just stop laying for a while? Both my brown leghorn and my polish haven't laid an egg in over a week. They are about 18 months old. My barred rock is the same age and hasn't laid an egg since April. They are not molting. Any suggestions?

Could their be something they don't like going on? I've heard of birds not laying because their coop is to close to a major highway and they didn't like the noise all day and night...

I've just put some juveniles in the coop. I have to shoo them out of the nest boxes every now and then, but there are plenty of boxes.

I have raised them for 10 years, use to only raise Buffs, and now I have been working on blues about the last 4 years. I have a bunch of beautiful pullets and hen's but it is the Roo that has been alluding me.

So I will work with him for now.
