Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Thank you! Are you going to cross your Australorps with ED? If so....you might be quite happy with the results.
I'm leaving that up to them but it seems Ed and my 4 girls are hanging out together and mating, he also likes my EE's. lol My one frizzle hen who is a tiny bantam is terrified of Ed and runs away screaming if he even looks her way. Poor thing has never seen anything so tall and big in her life. My other 2 roos are bantam. lol

The main thing is that you and they enjoy life. Oh...I can see the frizzle's point of view!

so i was just wondering. do your chickens not like a certain clothing color that you wear? today i got new basketball shorts and they are green and one is orange. normally i wear black or gray ones but today i decided to wear the green ones and one of the roosters ran at my leg. that was the first time he ever did that. could it be because of the green color?

My birds get upset by bright colors --- I tend to wear the same subdued colors all the time. But then again, they hate strange *anythings*. For the most part, I'm the only person they ever see. They don't attack strange things, they run away. I got a new orange rain jacket that I've used once. It put everyone in a complete panic, so I got another one that is drab green.

Well, from my New Years day Hatch-A-Long, I have 5 early arrivals.
The mothers were four Bantam OEG crossbreds ( I think they were bantam and large fowl cross).
3 are Naked Necks and 2 are non-Naked Neck.  I found one blue colored one.

Congratulations Draye!!!!
Can't wait to see their cuteness : )
We have chicks hatching (early) here too. Didn't think of the day they'd hatch when I set them --- but yaay for new (years) chicks!

No, I got one pullet that I think I can use I'm just missing a rooster

If hellbender had one and is willing to sell I can make it up there to meet him

I need a buff rock for a longer road

I have never seen a buff naked necks at a show so I have no good leads nava.. Hellbender may have a good buffs. I also remember another source in Virginia who had all 4 standard color NN about a year ago listed, but I went to the website recently they didn't list any NN's listed.. Not sure if they got rid of them, or it's not worth mentioning cause they don't sell to many NN?

Red and white seem to be the most popular NN for showing.

Frank Bayliss of Bayshore Kennels (VA) may be breeding buffs (not sure but had a couple last I heard) as well as other colors. Frank has some of the best NNs I've seen, and a nice person to deal with. He's pretty busy this time of year so he may be hard to contact.

On the 11th I'll be going to the lake city show hopefully I can get a buff rock

I'm taking 10 NNs
Along with others
I'm showing my avatar too
