So that leads to a genetic question, if he is in fact a he, his color is black, does that mean he will sire mostly black chicks? (his visual color anyway, have no clue as to genetic color since I have had such a mix of color / pattern) (he most likely is offspring of one of the Things, so would have mottled in the mix in his anscestry)

You mean the skin or feather color? Both are dominant and not sex linked. So at least half, if they;re not pure for either trait... or all if they are.

both, he is pretty dark fm skin for a boy, but also black feathered w/ pretty green and purple irredescence.

Sounds like a good bird. Often but not always, if a black roo doesn't have any leaky colors. he is pure for black feathering. Don't write that in stone, though.

Half fibros can turn out very dark skinned, especially pullets. So that's hard to tell.. just have to breed and see what happens.

Also she has her own version of "Cemani" and advertises on the BYC chickens for sale when there are enough to go around. She prefers the blue colors but has quite a mix and hatches a lot. I ordered eggs from her and I live in AZ. Under a broody six out of nine hatched. Mine was a mixed group because my flock is mixed.

Kassaundra if your bird turns out to be male and is as good looking as Shakespeare can I order a bunch when you find success. How old did you say "IT" is ?

I still have Shakespear and Riker they are both doing their jobs. The girls are laying fertile eggs. Shakespear and Riker are much flashier, prettier, but the up and comer boy has the darker Fm that neither Shakespear nor Riker have. Why oh why can't I find one guy that has it ALL lol lol lol

I won a very good looking pair of white showgirls and the female always reacted as you describe so I gave them away to two different families. @flower I'm trying to have patience, lol. Two days ago he made a very persistent go of it while I was in the coop. Didn't succeed that time but he was really after her so maybe he's gotten her a few times now. I'll be candling the latest eggs tomorrow night and then I'll be able to see. I wish the darn girl would just hold still for him!
