Naked Neck/Turken Thread

How many chicks your broodies have? If they don't have many you can let the good one to brood them.

This will maybe sound stupid, but how do you know your chicks can't stay warm enough?

The first mom just has 1, the second just 4 soon to be 3 b/c I'm bringing the naked one in to brood inside. They are both amazing moms I wouldn't take either ones chicks from them. Besides the chicks are a week and a half age difference.

The mom accepted the sock well no issues at all, but even so the little one won't stay out from under her feet and keeps trying to get under her feathers, if not under her is crying and shivering and not eating. I think it would have been fine in the summer, or if this week wasn't going to be overcast and cloudy

Oh, I thought that they are the same age..
I feel sorry for the naked one because it is going to be alone, but better to be alone than cold.

Hey guys! I haven't been in here in a while, but I'll have to post some pictures of my pullet that I decided to keep back for my NN cemani project. She is looking good, dark feathers (although they are almost blue looking) and mulberry skin, so she'll be a good start to the project.

Naked necks are called "Golovrata kokoš" or "Golovratka" or "Gološijan". You can translate it literally. "Golo" means naked and "vrat/šija" means neck

Thanks for the names! I always had an fascination for other languages.

Aww poor thing glad to know the mother was at least going to accept it with clothes on.

She is still relearning balance a little w/ it on, but since she is going to be alone I thought she needed the clothes even inside at least until she is a little bigger and can maintain body heat a little better.
