I'm hoping this well be a good hatch for me all my others this year have been crummy. Humidity to high due to weather. Air cells look alot better this time
Oh, yes indeedy! I've been rolling a few thoughts around my head since the 'kids' got the wild hare about meat birds.
MY notion is to cover a couple NN hens each with Chantecler and Buckeye cocks and then use the get to cover these Dark Cornish hens....using NNs as toppers in every case. Can't hurt, especially if all (most) excess cockerels will be caponized for the little quasi-commercial thingy that seems to be taking root around here.
I've ordered Ariel a double set of Chinese caponizing tools. Likely could do without them and just repo. The set I gave Turk but he said he actually plans to use them. WE'll see about that and I know where they are. I suspect the tools will return here with whomever shuttles back the NN hens.![]()
Yeah! NN rulz! It would be great to have reviews from the chefs for the NN birds if they're included in the enterprise.
I sure will post pictures! Thanks. That's my friends daughter an my only chick out if my first hatch. I named her lucky. She didn't realize she was a chicken for a long time.An she thought I was her mama. Now then she helps take care of the two other chicks I hatched out last time. She even lets them sleep under her.
