Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Sounds like a business opportunity! Have 'clients' bring their mean nasty cock birds to your place for overnight treatment. Give a goodly dose of whatever scorpion 'juice' your bird got and charge $75 or $100 bucks!!

If it were that simple I would've tried it on my own mean cockerels. Then again.....I'd be depriving myself of good meals if I made all of them into sweet, lovable boys.

Oh, now I get it, thanks!
Btw, what's the name of that breed? I saw it somewhere before.

The Dong Tao. Very rare because they only lay about 30-35 eggs a year. Old Orchard Farms is importing a few into the US and will be offering them for sale once they get them settled in and breeding. I'm sure they'll be way out of my budget!

@Kassaundra I love your chicks! So adorable! I can't wait for the fall to get here so I can get some chicks out of my NN girls. Too hot right now though they're the only ones laying consistently through this heat.

I was gone for a few days and now I have 15 pages of NN posts to catch up on. LOL

Meanwhile, here is photos of my 13 week old Crested cream legbar cross. Someone came over last week and asked me why they are wearing collars.

I love her! Does she have some king of partridge in it? I would realy like to see if anybody has some partridge naked necks.

Quote: Her dad was a gold duckwing, so I think that is where the color comes from. Hen was I think half crested cream legbar mixed with something that would produce white eggs...probably brown leghorn. They were supposed to be pure CCL hens, but every single pullet I have from then lays white or tinted eggs. The six turken pullets are still quite young and probably won't lay until September at the earliest.

Are McMurray's NN good quality, bred to standard birds? Looking to start my NN flock and want good quality to start with. (I know, i know, its hatchery stock)
Thanks!
