Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Oh Kassaundra, why do you have so perfect chickens?!?

Phyllis in her dots is one of the cutest things ever. And the name fits her perfect.
When I heard that Qtip was no longer I was happy to hear about Rtip. I fell in love with Qtip when I first saw her and I won't forget her.

I have to ask, do I see a few "Jaxoms"? I think few of your roosters are very similar to him.
Yes this years boys have some of their great grandpa in them, none w/ Jaxoms awesome comb, but I can see his genetics for sure. I still have the strong genetics of Thing one and two, which are the girls that made Jaxom, and the Gmas to some of this crew.

My latest hatch is now edging into being 1 week old....and I have a favorite. This little one is the love child of my favorite NN pullet and cockerel, and seems to have the best attributes of each one's personality, and with an 80% growth rate in this first week he's doing really well. Right now I'm thinking this will be a cockerel, and if so I think he'll make his daddy proud.

I would almost bet the farm that is a boy.

I see that most of your flock has straight combs. Do you even have any other tipe that could produce something similar?

Oh I remembered one girl that you posted sometime, she had pea comb, you said she probably lays green eggs. Do you still have her? I think she was birchen.

I'm think I'm going to try this but have two signs made one saying "No Coons" and the other one "No Possums".
Think that will work?

Of course the picture in the background should have chickens in it.

I originally had EE mixed in and lots of pea combs. And Jaxom had a modified V / leaf / ???? comb along w/ Thing 1 and 2. I lost or nearly lost all that genetics in the big loss 2 years ago. I do have one birchen girl w/ a modified pea comb she lays light green eggs, but so far this year none have hatched. (Thing 1 and 2 survived the attack but died some time later not related to the attack, they died of natural causes) Most all the fm in my flock can be traced back to the Things or Jaxom.

I do remeber that Things had V combs, they were part mottled houdan, am I right?

I also remember Audra, with comb that looked like horns. She was beautiful.

I think that's the only way to get rid of them.

Yes the Things were part mottled houdan, but didn't show it, they were solid black and had dark fm skin. I had forgotten about Audra she turned out to be a he, and that comb was cool!

So, Audra was also chick from one of the Things? I guess that's where her mottling came from.

I have a color question again. Black tail white rooster with few black markings on his neck
and black hen would produce what color chicks?
