The last of the Tank x GNH eggs that went into lock down is zipping now, so it looks like all of those making it to lock down made it.

(Two of Goodwin x Maran eggs didn't)

I have another incubator cooking on day 4 right now with 5 Puppy eggs, 1 Switch egg (I think), and 6 Goodwin x Arbequina (the olive egger). I also have another 11 of the Tank x GNH eggs saved (in case these didn't do well). I think I really need to NOT set those... I'll scramble them and feed them to the babies later this week, I think.

How much egg do you give your babies? (I mean ratio of number of eggs to number of babies.) I don't want to give them too much at one time...

I've never actually measured a specific amount of egg for the chicks. I just eyeball it depending upon the size of the hatch and how much they're eating.

All are thriving but one who is small and sleeping a lot - BUT, I think this was the very last one to hatch, so I'm not ready to worry just yet. I got it out from under the MHP and got it to drink a little more water, then put it back under to rest. I'll have my fingers crossed - hard to tell if its legs are working right yet.

(This was one who pipped really high despite a normal air cell, though it kicked itself out of the shell just fine.) I'm feeling paranoid that I'll get all cockerels and have decided to keep saving their eggs until I get a feel for the male female ratio.

The rest of them come running whenever I enter the room. A few sort of stumble/hurl themselves clumsily across the entire brooder. Hysterical...

Hello draye. Here I am...still waiting. But alas..me thinks you have forgotten all about me. :(

Nope, I haven't forgotten. I just can't seem to get any more NN green egg layers. I've finally gotten 2 pullets from my one and only GENN hen. They're at about 18 weeks old so hopefully by spring they'll be laying and I'll know if they've inherited the green egg gene or not.

They don't have to be all green, unless that's all you are wanting to get? Hope you start getting those eggs come spring. :)

I'll collect and get you some in early spring. That way I can be sure that they're fertile. I'm getting ready to set a round onreally sure tnot he 24th. Not really sure about the fertility on these, I've heard that sometimes roosters go infertilite in the winter/cold wheather sometimes But shoot me a PM late Feb. early March when you're ready for some, shouldn't take me but a day or two to gather you 12 to 15 eggs get them shipped out.
