Beer- do you have mature CX? super fast medium or slow growing strain? I'd love to follow and see results of your project.

You gave me the itch with Turkens by reading your threads at Sustainable Meat / Standard Bred Dual Purpose Bird Thread about your birds, so you're the one to blame.....lmao....I was doing well with my Cornish crosses until you came along....lmao.

I am so happy to corrupt and enable you!

They really are a fantastic breed.

Thanks - I think they are looking fantastic. So much so that I was tempted to tell the Dunlap lady to just forget it (I have so many chicks already), but I decided that I'm already committed, so I'll follow through. I tell ya', though - with as many chicks as I'll have on hand, they'd better be great, or they're lunch. Only so many chickens I can keep....

With this I bought plus the ones I'm waiting from Purely Poultry plus the two orders I received last week from Purely and Ideal and plus my Cornish cross with White Rock and Madisons plus the Isbar and Marana egg exchange I did with @generaldsherman in the bator, ill be almost hitting 200 birds with White Leghorns,EE,Barnvelders, Welsummers, Kraienkoppes, Copper Marans, Black Shamos, Thailands, Isbars, unknown Marana from exchange, Turkens, Light Brahmas and my meat birds. Oh and an ugly duckling egg in bator from exchangealso. Your taking of 13 different breeds. Planning on getting Delawares, Barred and White Rocks, New Hampshire, and RIR next week from Tractor Supply.

I thought girl when he was just fluff b/c of how dark the fm is, but usually my birchen girls only have a small amount of lacing in the neck/chest. If this one is a girl it will have the most lacing of any girl I've ever hatched from my birds.

Cackle so I imagine fast growing. Asked a BYC member near me that raises CX yr round if she could save some pullets that looked like they might live. Thought she had two but one turned out to be a late blooming cockerel. So I'll only have one to put with my white NN cockerel and pullet. I'll try hatching as many as possible with the hope for a good cockerel. I will be ordering fast growing CX pullets from either Meyer or McMurray (only one's I know of that sell sexed CX) to be delivered around Easter also. The cleanest necked 50/50 cockerel will be mated with any CX pullets that live and lay. See what happens from there. IF it all works out.
I still will be setting eggs from three NN anyway, two are clean neck and the white one has only a small bowtie, same with the white cockerel and red black cockerel just small bowties.

Now, small bowties can be NN right? Or is any bowtie at all always Nn?
I culled all with big bowties, plus a couple cockerels, how I went from 15 to 5, a trio and pair.

I think a small amount of feathers are acceptable and count as pure.
