Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I set 10 eggs laid in a row by the same hen. 5 hatched and only 1 is naked neck, 4 fully feathered (1 died). both hen and roo are naked neck with bibs. they are in a separate pen so there is no confusion about the eggs. she is my only naked neck girl. the other two died.

I have always said statistics are useless. in this case there are at least 40% of fully feathered (in case all of the unhatched eggs would have been naked necks).

@cactusrota I heard that White NN cockerel that I got from you a while back crow yesterday evening. He is also starting to try to breed the hen's. The White NN pullets that were with him still have the pink combs and wattles and haven't started laying eggs yet. I forgot when you told me that they would start laying. Was it supposed to be in July?

Well, the Bresse seemed to start at around 5 months old, which would be the beginning of July. But with the NN genes added to the mix that throws a wrench in the works... so really no idea. I've got one NN pullet from that hatch that's not a Bresse that I THINK may already be laying...
Quite a few of my cockerels from that hatch have been crowing for a few weeks now already. :D

Well this boy probably would have been crowing already, but decided not to start until after I culled 3 other roo's last Monday? One of the younger Breese through you loves to sit on my lap out there, and flies up on my lap on it's own and want's to take a nap. :gig

I finally named my unnamed cockerel...Angus!
He’s a bit more skittish than the other two but not as aggressive.
He seems to really like me too.
He will jump up on my lap when I sit down all on his own.
He doesn’t want me to touch him; he just wants to lay down and look at me lol.
Yesterday, Loki was already in my lap because I picked him up and Angus decided to jump on my shoulder
