Naked Neck/Turken Thread

So I had to tell someone who understands my excitement...
I got a white one, yaaaay!!! Though I do love them all, even though the family calls them buzzards.... On another bright note, the 5 Cornish cross chicks are doing well on a restricted diet. These don’t seem quite as ravenous as my previous batches. They play and jump and run with the turkens. Hopefully I can get a couple to breeding age, (the ones that slow or quit “chickening” will go to freezer camp, yes I know that might be all of them.) I would love to have some extra meaty naked necked crosses one day. Fingers crossed.

I have one of them in my brooder, and some more in my incubator that should hatch on Sept. 4th.

I currently have at least 2 white ones..... I think? But they may both be roos... sigh

I need to learn to say no. I let this white one go a while back. Kept the other one, she lays a green egg, and I just hatched one of her eggs last week.... cute little chipmunk turken, probably out of the welsummer roo in the pic.

I've got a few white pullets/hens, but they are all crossed with Bresse and have blue or white legs, so not show quality.

I have 1 white one that's a couple weeks old. Hard to get pics of the litter buggar though. Mama gets really mad if I get close and it never stops moving!

I'm getting close now to my hatch date. I will start lock-down on Friday. They are due to hatch on the 3rd. More NN/Breese's!

I plan to set some leghorn eggs covered by my turken roo .Saturday... I hope I get some more little necked necks!
