He looks familiar! Wow, except the comb. My rooster finally figured out what his job is

(still young, the fellow). Funny enough he prefers NN chickens over those that have all these weird feathers around their neck.

My son is looking for some Naked Necks for his project birds next year for 4H. I was looking for either red or buff, but can't seem to find any the are bred to SOP. While this might not be important overall, it is important for him because he will be showing them. Anyone know where I can get some eggs or chicks from SQ birds?

I don't know what SOP, or SQ means, but I have a bunch of standard buff NNs I got from Ideal Poultry. I have had NO health problems, and I get a bunch
of BIG eggs everyday! They all have black tails (if that matters), and most are real naked. I have one I got from Ideal that is about the same color as
a school bus.

She lays an almost white egg, but doesn't have any feathers on her neck at all. Go figure.

Call Ideal before you order to what's hatching. They have blacks and mottled. Therefore, if you just order "straight run" or "pullets"
off their website there maybe not any guarantee on color.

Mine try to sit on my lap, so enjoy them.

I'm not real sure but I think tha SOP is standard of perfection and sq is show quality
Anyway that is what I was told.
I love my NN chickens, they lay the best big eggs everyday. I have 10 hens and get that many eggs just about everyday.
I would trade them for any other breed.

BTW keep the pic's coming

Aw Nava....I love the blonde! (Not that the other isn't lovely, too).

My chicks are 4 weeks old now. They are NN X Brahma, so not 'true blue', but as three of the four are grey, they probably do classify as 'blue'. With their feathery legs, they look truly like something that time forgot.

Oh and I have a few more in the incubator and under a broody right now....so even more....I HOPE!

My neighbour called by NN cock, Mort, an ugly b******d, but then went on to say he liked him, though, and our vet. said she wanted me to bring him back again as she liked him so much.So even folk who have never seen them before can and do take a liking.

Viva NNs

Here is a picture of some of our week old wee Bantam Naked Neck Feather Footed chicks

Bantam NN's should be banned. I went into my feed store feeling pretty confident about being able to walk past the chicks (already have 11 NN's), when what did I spy, but bantam NN's. Are you kidding me? Cuteness overload here. I brought home 3 and went back the next day for the remaining 4. ARRRGGHHHH!
