Welcome, and very glad you are looking to get those wonderful birds again. Be sure to take pictures and show us what Argentinan NN look like. What are they called in your country? See several posts above for different names for NN in different countries.

I have even found a site for you to purchase some chix.

I have heard that NNs originally came from Madagascar. This might be your chance
to get some of the original birds. Do you have any information regarding the year
when NNs first came to Argentina?

Just to give you some motivation to get your flock here is a picture of one my roosters.

He is about 75cm tall. All NNs seem to be the same no matter what part of the globe they were raised.

i would like to start a small flock of NNs. does anyone know of a breeder who has quality birds and sells hatching eggs?

thanks.

This is a picture of 2 pullet chix I bought off Craigslist that came from Ideal.
There are 6 more, but these 2 were the only ones that didn't just want to
only show their butt! Born on July 27.

Nice little beards for females, huh!

I bought the 8 of them because they have yellow feet and legs.
I have purchased a bunch of chix from Ideal. Most have green feet and legs.
Or, to be politically correct I should say olive and avocado. HA!

Free photo tip: Use a big Rubbermaid storage container turned on it's side
for baby photos. Only 1 way to get out. Just don't use one of your best
Carhartt shirts for the background!

Yeah, just tell us where you live. There are only 8,000 or so BYC members that would gladly assist you.

i'm in arkansas. but, in theory, can't i get eggs from....any state?

Yeah, you can get them from ANY state. But, now that we know where you live there maybe a neighbor 25 miles
down the road that can sell you some hatching eggs. Or, perhaps some chix.

Fertile eggs must be kept at "room temperature." When most of the U.S. is experiencing +100 temps, you can't
ship eggs.

I am really a nice guy. Just to prove it, if you can wait till October/November I will send you hatching eggs for FREE!
I do this all the time, just to "further the breed." If you want to have birds now just buy some chix from Cackle, McMurray,
or Ideal. They sell quality birds and chix like it hot.
