Hi! :) Thanks for all the compliments on my NN. The couple is young birds, about 6 months old. The hen has just start to laying eggs. Their necks will become more red in spring/summer when there is more sunlight (and more hormones). :) The breed is pretty rare in Sweden. In the large fowl I have only seen the colors black and cuckoo... Maybe some buffs to.

Here is another pic of my NN roo and my modern english bantam game hen Fläskis (if you translate to eng. you have "Porky", refers to her being - Tubby/Chubby). :)
This photo was taken about 2 weeks after the first pics I posted. You can see that the roo is already more red on his neck and around his crop.

Very nice rooster!
You have almost the same last name I have- Anderson. Proof that some of my great- great-great grandparents came from Sweden. :)

He's a HANDSOME guy! I've got barred and blue barred single comb brown-eggers and pea-ish combed green-eggers here. Looking forward to hatching lots when they start laying again. Lisa

I love that barred roo EziiLinkoso and he looks a big fellow. And those babies Dipsy Doodle Do are BEAUTIFUL

We have had horrendous weather here in (notoriously wet) Wales with inches of rain on a daily basis and less than 8 hours of daylight for many days. BUT....my girls are laying like mad. Surely they don't LIKE the rain/mud/wind.

Blackchops (?mutant!) huge black NN stopped laying just before Xmas having produced double yolkers all over 95g for a few weeks. I thought that it was a good thing as her huge body probably needed a rest. She started up again 2 days ago, and the eggs are now over 100g. What is wrong with this girl? She's heavy, very heavy, not pure bred (crossed with something), very black, legs like a rooster, as tall as Gordon, looks like the picture of health.

I think she's trying to perfect the one egg omelette.

Lots of pretty birds there guys.

pgpoultry, are they still doubles after the break?

My first hatch of the year gave me 4 peeps and 2 are NNs, they are all from my brahmaX pullets. Neither one of the necks got feathered legs.
