Quote: In the picture she has a pretty face. She is red and her eggs should be pale brown or creamy brown and large and lots of them. Is she pure ? Well I do not see any other breeds mixed in her appearance but I encourage you to read most of the previous posts to glean the information about the breed. Start at the front, make a note of where you stopped reading and by the time you are finished you will not as much as you need to know. They are a fun breed for several reasons.

What color eggs do Jersey Giants lay ? If they are white the off springs of the cross will make even lighter tan eggs. They will be very big but grow slowly.

The only thing that I know about shows is that they are fun and a good way to learn about what is good and bad about your birds. You meet some nice folks and it is a good way to learn other stuff about show chickens. Humm the only person here on this thread that has posted about NNs is Nava. She and her husband also a breed and sell really nice Blues. Black and Splash and Laced NNs. But she prefers to send chicks.

One important genetic fact. The NN gene is domininate. In offsprings with a bird who does not carry NN gene. You can tell, some nakedness oneNN gene, Small bow tie or no feathers on neck equals two copies of

The offspring will be some with almost naked neck or just very small necked bow ties.

Some with large bow tie and more with no naked neck who do not carry the naked need gene.

BYC will upload the image. First click on the little picture in the menu, the little guii just after the arrows and before the logo for film strip. If you run your cursor over the items in the menu bar the writing will show . Upload image box will open in a pop-up so make sure that you have not clicked to not add or open pop-ups. After it opens just follow instructions. This is easier to demonstrate than write about how to !

Nice looking ladies. I can't tell because of the shadow, but is Kevin's comb straight, or pea? His feathering looks a lot like the white and black EE rooster. The NN/Del crosses I had were more white, the Delaware coloring was very evident, except for the one who had a black NN for his momma, and he was barred.
