Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I don't have much experience w/ picking feathers, but I would be more apt to punish (isolate) or get rid of entirely the aggressive feather picker, and before she teaches the others about it.

Is this Oreo?

If so I would really like some eggs that he has fertilized.

Go trade some on one of the eggs swap threads and offet some of these eggs, I'll take them.

So cute,

I've got some that are younger, of course I also have the parents.
Just about any color that you can think of but no blues. Not yet any way.

Yes that is Oreo, I would be happy to trade eggs w/ you. His current ladies are all EE's. None of my NN's are old enough yet to even think about laying eggs. (that is if I have any girls

) all his ladies lay green eggs, I haven't hatched any of his eggs yet but he has a great pea comb so I'm assuming he carries the colored egg gene.

One of my barreds (that I think is male) is blue and I have 3 blacks (I think at least 2 are female) so maybe a few more blues in my future. And I am about to get a couple of NN x females that are crossed w/ spitz****** (can't remember the spelling) they have mowhawks though and I think they are blue and splash, I will be getting those next month. I can't wait to get (from my offspring so it will be a while) bare NN's w/ "hawks" lol lol lol

Man Is he beautiful actually all your girls are also. I don't have any to swap since I'm not allowed roosters but I'd love to buy them if you sell them.

Hi there! I need some help. I have twelve 6 week old pullets in one coop/run. One is a Turken. They all have plenty of room in both the coop and run so I don't think they are bored but for some reason my Turken is getting it's feathers pulled out. I didn't know who the culprit was so I immediately pulled the Turken out and isolated her. Two days later I tried putting her back in and as soon as I set her down a RIR ran over and pulled out a feather right in front of me. I have no idea what to do with her. I can't keep her isolated forever...don't have the room but they have pulled out a significant number of feathers on both shoulders and between her wings right behind her neck. I also can't put her in there again to be tortured. Any ideas? Also, they don't do it to any of the others. She is the only one.
Hi I'm sorry your one hen is having such a bad time of it. There is a man on one of the threads I go on once in a while that put those pinless blinders on his flock cause they were doing something similar . He said he was nervous at first but once they were in place they seem to be doing better. Might be worth a try. Good Luck

That would be Spitzhauben?
Neat cross. See my avatar? That is a 3/4 Polish and 1/4 Naked Neck. I breed it myself, hatched out 2 of them, asnd sold them as I decided not to continue that line of breeding.
Your cross will be something like that.

Last year I had an issue with one of my little frizzle chicks getting pecked by her siblings. I put Rooster Booster Peck No More Lotion on her. They were going for her tail and her wings so I just coated those feathers really well... and it worked great. I think once the "little peckers" get a taste of that they stay away... she healed up fast and thankfully it was never an issue again. :)
... just fyi... the lotion is violet and will dye light feathers... my little chick was white and this stuff dyed all of her feathers purple!
