the nn eggs i got from kkh never hatched i was pretty bummed about it for a few days as i was excited about them hatching but they never did they were under my silkie hen i don't know what went wrong i opened the eggs they were fully developed but never pipped so i guess they gave up

e of her lesions.

could it be fowl pox? its spread my mosquitoes. if its fowl pox she will recover and be immune to it rest of her life. think each lesion is a bite spot from a mosquito so NN get it on their necks too.

Has anyone started chocolate yet? Since it is such a new color I didn't think it would be in this breed yet? I would like to stick my choc orp roo over my turken hen but afraid she will beat him up....

The second is of Camo, who is now three months old!!!  Wow, he is growing      My daughter Hannah is holding him.

Does anyone know what color he is?  Originally we thought lavender, but now he has gold leakage.  You can see it on his wing.   Also, does he look like he is a Turken/Japanese bantam mix?  He holds his wings down at an angle.

color doesn't seem right for lavender to me either. lavender can have gold leakage too.. turns gold to a blond/straw color. am wondering if he could be dun(aka fawn/khaki/sometimes non-sex linked chocolate if dark) ask someone who has duns to see if they think it might be dun... never worked with that color myself so can't be confident with my guess about dun. dun works same way as blue(black/dun/fawn vs. black/blue/splash, respectively), so if you breed him with a black and half of the chicks come out 'dun' and half black, it'd be a hint he's dun.

in any case, very handsome rooster with interesting color!

Kev- thank you for looking I don't know if it is fowl pox? The mosquito would have to have been in the house and only got on her. It doesn't look like the pictures I've seen of it either.




Camo-
I have seen dun polish before and the color is different from his. He is more a greyish blue rather than a khaki/white. Either way, I think he is pretty and will be looking forward to seeing what color babies he makes.

This group are The Backdoor Men (innuendo noted!).......they never move more than about 3 feet from the door where they beg for food all day.

My other crowd are The Shed Gang......they move down to the agricultural shed where they help themselves constantly to lamb pellets.....and stay within the vicinity of the shed all day.



Note...no lambs, but Blackchops knows where the food is. My La Flèche rooster is standing by, but he won't get a look in if Gordon appears....the saddle she now wears is a testament to her being Gordon'e favourite.

They are such a handsome bunch! Arian (and his ridiculous comb) look similar to one of my spl frizz green-egger guys.

Actually DDD, Arian's comb used to be even more ridiculous as it had a 'horn' on one side at the back. He is only a little fellow and one day tried to mount Blackchops in front of Gordon. Now Gordon is normally a tolerant fellow, but that was a bit too much. Gordon came shooting over and chased Arian off, catching him by the comb and pecking off the 'horn'.

Then the story gets worse. Gordon began clucking provocatively at Blackchops and offered her the bit of comb.....which she promptly wolfed down. Ah well, waste not want not......or was this the ultimate 'one upmanship'?

So Arian now has a pretty symmetrical comb. Pity he has 4 toes on one foot and 5 on the other!
