Naked Neck/Turken Thread

I agree with Nava. I don't see roo saddle feathers. Infact, the tail looks like a pullet tail, not a cockerel's to me. Whatever it is, it's a beautiful bird. Kassaundra, you'll have to let us know when it becomes evident.
One thing for sure, I'm not shy about posting pics of my chickies!!!!!

I was hoping the barred w/ the rose comb was a girl, I like the rose combs and I'm keeping shakespear so w/ a boy and a girl w/ rose combs should increase the chance in future generations.

In my mind from day one I've known Mrs White is a boy, but in my heart I'm really wanting a girl!!!!!!!!!

The barred one in the pics is the only one of the barreds that I think is female, I'm pretty sure all the rest are male, but that will give me a male barred (blue) and at least the one female barred for genetic diversity (love all the colors and patterns when I look at my chickies in the yard I want to see a rainbow of colors and psychodelic patterns!!! lol)

Beautiful birds. psst- don't read beyond this: about the barred bird, it has a couple solid black feathers. I cannot recall any female barred having that... only on some not pure barred boys. Has anybody seen that on barred hens/pullets? I would guess male due to that and some feathers on wing bow seeming to come up with male style of barring.

Lisa, gorgeous babies, REALLY like the looks of a couple in there..

Glad I'm not the only one having trouble sexing these guys. I have gotten good at the EEers and was feeling pretty confident until I got these, now I don't feel so chicken stupid!!!! lol lol (Good thing I'm better at gender ID when it comes to people)lol lol lol

I took all 10 outside for the first time at 10 weeks. These guys are so much more cold hardy than other chicks. They were down right HOT at 25 degrees Celsius!

I know how you feel! No hackles to go by either :P I think my single combed ones are easier.. but the ones with the pea combs? Is that what they are?? They are hard to tell..

Wanted to post a few pics of naked neck chicks that arrived this morning from cackle hatchery.16 naked necks and 16 silver spitzhauben. But first I want to show you a pic of the box that they arrived in.The postal truck was leaking. My friend who picked them up for me this morning said he was suprised that there were no dead chicks.

Now here are just a few pics. Will try to post more pics later. Really like all the naked pics. Everyone you have some gorgeous birds. Lisa would like to try some more eggs in a few weeks if you have any available.
