I never did, either. But - I don't think it's a bad idea - if it's incentive to work hard. Grades reflect having learned. Knowledge gained (mostly) sticks with us, which sets us up for continued learning.I never got paid for grades.
Cool! And fascinating!Put a new queen bee in a hive made by stealing bees and brood from my best producing hive.
Lucky dog!I will
Brew tea for my next batch of kombucha
work out on elliptical
finish planting my garden starts
take some gravel to my neighbor
de-bug the asparagus
make my dog's dinner burgers

I don't disagree. But many do.Many grades have nothing to do with learned knowledge.
I always gave my kids money for A’s and still do. I definitely wouldn’t say it is the only reason, or even the primary reason, that they have never made anything less than an A on their report card, but it didn’t hurt. It also shows them that I value their education and being the best they can be at whatever they do.I don't disagree. But many do.
Editing to add: this could be a negotiation point.
* You can earn money for good grades in such-and-such academic classes - but not such-and-such non-academic classes.
-or-
* Good grades in all classes will result in reward ~ but, Non-academic classes will not gain the same reward as academic classes
I understand that my opinion on this matter is controversial. I never recieved money for good grades. I never paid money for good grades. But - every parent is different. Every child is different. Some adults recieve bonuses in their jobs, based on results. Some don't. It can be incentive.
