I had a self blue oegb hen I named Crocket because she had a rough hatch and almost didn't make it. She spent her first 36 hours in a country crock dish in the incubator so her siblings would stop grabbing at her. She survived and turned into an amazing pet and great hen! Unfortunately a year ago last fall we lost her to a mink that got into the coop. I miss my baby girl.

I am sorry for ur loss I had a gold laced sebright bantam rooster that won reserve champion at a show but lost him a few months later to a hawk. The chicken I miss the most was and old English game bantam rooster named Ricardo who was one of the first chickens I owned he would sit on my shoulder and take naps with me. Lost him due to a big rooster getting into the bantam area and killing him
 
Also we actually named a hen HeiHei and the name fot her perfectly. She was a white legbar that had a rough hatch and the breeder didn't expect her to survive. She did but she wasn't ever quite right she had a vaulted skull and a huge crest. She also layed the most beautiful bright blue eggs. Other than having a funny walk kind of like a bunny hop and having some mental probkems she was totally normal. She was sweet as pie. Thought she was a dog and lived for I think it was 3 years before passing away suddenly. Interestingly despite her mental disability she taught herself tricks and was one of my favorite hens. I only wish she had layed more and I had been able to see if her disability was inherited or something that was a fluke or caused by a peck to her vaulted skull from a sibling.

Also the name Polly Pocket. She was Crocket's daughter.

I'm so sorry for your losses as well.

Owning chickens can be so rewarding but so hard at the same time.

I'm intrigued that you had a large fowl rooster kill a bantam rooster. What kind was the large fowl?

All of our birds run together unless we separate them for pure eggs. My bantams have always done just fine with the large fowl. I did have one bbr oegb roo we rehomed though because he kept attacking all the other bantam roosters out for blood.

It was a partridge rock rooster the other roosters did not bother him
