He is! And he is a sweetie too. I hope he ends up being a good rooster to the girls.Handsome boy!
Snape is young though and I have no idea what to look for in a rooster. Other than he is sweet. And a bit of a chicken. (Pun intended!)
Also. My eldest put the chicks on a tray. Called them chicken nuggets. Told him to stop traumatizing the floofs.
We showed him the new babies too and he just stared at them. (He was well supervised of course). He loves being near the pen we have the girls in. I have read not to let big roos near small pullets bc they will try to mate before the pullets are mature enough. So that's why he gets gated visitation. As for what to look for in a male. A lot of times you'll hear people say they pick the cockerels that are mindful of their human's space. Personally, every boy that has attacked me has been a mindful cockerel. Up till now, I've had succes with the friendly boys. Really though, you'll just have to wait and see. If he's treating the chicks you have outside OK, then that's a really good start
Those are small birds with Einstein style feathered heads right?Oh spoke to my friends daughter and we are going bantam polish instead of modern games.
