The cock is ok, id like him a little tighter, showing more type. He looks soft to me. If you compare him to the us standard he looks big. I dont care for the hen. She is too dark and has light shafts, her tail color is off. She does not have a clean "spot" at the tip of the tail feather. I think we have better birds here. I would look for a cock that has the type and color you like and go from there. There are some beautiful birds here you just have to find the one that suits you.

I could only find # 5864 of those on your website.

I really liked the rooster's shape and color. I agree he should be a bit more 'tight', head and tail pulled towards his center and the wings more notable, but I don't see anything wrong with the color. About the hen, I'm not really able to see her true color from the photo, but I think she's a bit light. In fact, she's pushing buff already. Thought we were trying to make them darker.

lol we all see color differently. If you read the standard it states light chestnut several times. What is light chestnut? When I say the hen is to dark. If you look at each feather they seem to have a light shaft and a darker base. The dark base it what Im looking at. Im not sure why you couldnt see the pics on the site, the are some good examples of nice color and how the old hens seem to fade over time. I have been working on holding the base color in the hens. The cocks seem to hold their color well.

Haha, I totally agree that people see color differently. I know NHR are considered "Medium Chestnut", so I'm guessing Nankins would be a few shades lighter.
On, your website, Its not that I couldnt view the pictures, It was that there were no birds under those band #'s. I really appreciate your website, by the way. You have stunning birds.
I've also noticed that hens' color fade over time. I have two hens that havent changed a shade yet. (They're only 1 year old)
Right now, I'm debating on which bird to pair. Its becoming more complicated that I expected.

This is my sons winning rooster..he is a single comb nankin and has won numerous BB this year. He was the JR Champion nankin at the Crossroads Nankin Nationals.

RoiLindo, it should have been 5685, 5686 and 5664. 5691 is the hen whos spot in the tail is too big.

Chikincrazee has some beautiful birds. She had several nice cockerels that she posted pictures of last year.
